Purpose: At Bits & Bytes, our ultimate goal is to inspire a love of Computer Science in all and provide under-served students with resources and a supportive community to learn and succeed. We are putting together teams that will create programming courses that break down the overwhelming amount of information that is already available into smaller, more manageable pieces. These courses will be sent out as email newsletters.

Purpose: ZoomKidz is a free program for kids from Grades K-5 to learn about various academic and fun topics during these tough times. It is taught by teen mentors that are highly qualified and are given proper training on Zoom and with younger children.

XDHACKS MINI - LA
Purpose: XdHacks Mini - LA is a hub of the parent organizations, XdHacks, based in LA and hosts annual hackathons. These hackathons are geared towards high schoolers in hopes of spreading STEM to more students as well as advocating for the positive use of computer science and engineering to solve societal issues.
TUTOR OLIVE LLC
"Give Your Child the Resources to Succeed"

Purpose: Tutor Olive's mission is to provide free, yet high-quality tutoring to those in grades K-8. We use the peer tutoring method rather than the traditional adult method because statistically, peer tutoring is more effective. We strive for academic excellence, and our tutors are determined to get students the help they need. Due to our recent launch of Tutor Olive, we are looking for volunteers (to act as tutors) and students that would like to brush up on their academic skills before the upcoming academic year.
STEAM POWER
Purpose: STEAM Power's mission is to provide better access to STEAM education in children through tutoring, DIY projects, videos, and blogs.
SPECREATE
Purpose: We are a student-run organization that aim to help students with special needs receive tutoring and mentorship. We do this by connecting a high school student with a special needs student in elementary school, and our tutors will create a personalized curriculum to accommodate the student. Our tutors will work through their students through educational and social aspects so the student will feel comfortable and receive important guidance and help.
MENTAL HEALTH RESEARCH OPPORTUNITY
"Mental health awareness is on rise while research in the field is not enough. Mental illness treatments are not personalized enough for the different backgrounds of patients, different mental illnesses, etc. which leaves many patients unsupported and lost. We must put more research into this field so we can one day support mental illnesses in a correct, supportive manner. Disclaimer: We are not looking for the perfect cure that fits all but rather factors that can be combined together through research to see other methods of treatment that are more beneficial."

By providing essential information on health conditions, how to self-screen, how to maintain one's health, and more, HealthNeedsRx educates medically-underserved areas on primary prevention and allows people to take control of their own well-being.

Purpose: HopperHacks @ Home is an all-female (transgender, genderqueer, and non-binary inclusive) hackathon that will occur on July 25-26, 2020! Held in honor of Grace Hopper, HopperHacks aims to bridge the gender gap and encourage diversity in computer science!
CoderDojo Clark
​Purpose: Our main goal is to aid and encourage children and teenagers (ages 9 -14) to cultivate an interest in computer coding and develop their skills using a variety of computer coding languages by creating a relaxed, social, inclusive, and fun environment for our attendees to code in through our bimonthly (every two months) workshops.
FEYND OUT
​Purpose: In the spirit of physicist Richard Feynman, "The Great Explainer", Feynd Out strives to create visuals that balance detail and comprehension in the pursuit of broader communication of scientific discoveries.
Our visuals are meant to help our audiences explore a wide range of scientific and mathematical advances each week through familiarization with background content and the significance of highlighted studies.

Purpose: CNK Health services is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on giving back to our community by assisting the elderly and the underprivileged. We donate clothes, supplies, food, and the basic necessities to those in need. We are committing to investing our expertise and resources to create awareness and achieve our mission. We have started a project called “Lets Make Masks” to donate masks and cards to frontline healthcare workers and senior citizens. Through this project, we are providing opportunities for volunteers to earn Volunteering services hours.
FUTURE FORWARD THINKING
Purpose: We aim to bridge the educational gap left by COVID school closures by offering FREE tutoring services to students in grades K-12 and tutoring opportunities for grades 8-12 (we will VERIFY SERVICE HOURS
THE MISSION SAN JOSE HIGH SCHOOL CHAPTER OF FIMRC
Purpose: The Mission San Jose High School chapter of FIMRC will be hosting a virtual STEM panel from August 11 to 13 from 6-8pm PST each day. We have an amazing lineup of professionals from Stanford, Berkeley, and more and they are excited to talk to students about their careers in STEM and answer any questions. This is a great networking opportunity for students to meet professionals from a field they may want to pursue in the future. Tickets cost $5 for access to all three days of the panel. All proceeds will go towards the California CASA Foster Home system to help those who have been disproportionately affected by COVID-19.
SIMPLY NEUROSCIENCE

Purpose: Simply Neuroscience is a non-profit organization that works to expand student involvement in neuroscience and psychology through interdisciplinary education, outreach, and awareness. The organization works to address the early neuroscience gap through its wide variety of enriching, informative initiatives, including "The Synapse" podcast, Humans of Neuroscience series, Brain Resource Creation department, and Action Potential Advising Program.
